What is a sub domain? A sub domain is exactly what the name implies; it is a domain name that is part of a larger domain name, hence the prefix ‘sub. ’in front of the domain. Domain names are something like ‘domain.com.’ If a person were to use the URL www.domain.com, that is a sub domain; www.domain.com is part of the larger example of ‘domain.com,’ yet both URLs still take the reader in the same direction.
