Url Forwarding

Domain and URL forwarding is a technique that is employed on the World Wide Web that allows multiple URLs to be used for a particular web page. Domainblog.com and www.domainblogUSA.com may lead to the same page, especially if domain or URL forwarding has been employed.

As far as the internet goes, domain and URL forwarding is a relatively new concept, as is the World Wide Web when you really think about it. Buying a domain with forwarding is probably going to be a bit more expensive than a regular domain; the advantage to free or paid URL or domain forwarding is that it gives internet users more than one way to actually get to your page on the internet.

When is domain URL forwarding useful? It is useful for many websites that have been set up for a particular company; if the company has changed its name, or the website has changed its name, domain URL forwarding can get the user from the old page to the new page, without the user noticing anything. Domain forwarding is something that the internet employs all the time; it is basically a shuttle from page to page that works without the user having to actively do anything, so it eliminates the problem of reaching page errors and getting frustrated.

Domain URL forwarding is also called URL redirection; it is especially useful for larger websites that have more complicated names, especially those that are commonly misspelled. This way, spelling errors do not deter users who may or many not even know any better, allowing them access to a site even though their information may not be one hundred percent correct. This is great for web addresses that are plastered on the side of buildings or buses, or along the road on billboards going up and down the street. Usually these web addresses are just something that people jot down quickly or store in their memories for later use, and for that reason many companies employ domain URL forwarding to maximize the number of hits they can get through their advertising or even word of mouth.

Domain URL forwarding is great for businesses who have long URLS; if the administrator has employed web domain URL forwarding, all that is necessary is a few short and simple words or a phrase to be typed in in the name of the website, and they will be redirected to the right place. This may not necessarily mean that the URL the user typed in as the actual, registered domain name for the website or company. When domain URL forwarding is employed, it just makes life easier for everyone involved; companies get more hits and people are able to get to their web pages more easily.
